Social Networking

"Is there value in social networks and social networking?" Yes because:

1.) It allows you to get to see what a person is like before deciding to meet them. This could be particularly useful when you want to know what your college roommate is like. You can see if you're compatible and learn what your roommate is like. Some students say it's good to know a roommate before actually meeting the person. And now, even curious parents are sneaking peaks at profiles.

2.) It may actually be useful to students for their education. 37% of districts say at least 90 % of their staff are participating in online communities of their own-related to education-and 59 % of districts said that at least half were participating. These findings, done by a study, indicate that educators find value in social networking and suggest that many already are comfortable and knowledgeable enough to use social networking for educational purposes with their students. Right now even 96 % of school districts say that at least some of their teachers assign homework requiring internet use. So social networks may have a future for education.

3.) Social networking allows you to express yourself and keep in touch with friends by exchanging messages or comments and posting personal profiles describing who you are and your interests, blogs or online diaries, photos, creative writing, artwork, videos, and music. This allows you to talk to friends that you don't see everyday or that live far away. Now you can leave a short comment instead of writing a long e-mail.

4.) Only .08 % of all students say they've actually met someone in person from an online encounter without their parents' permission. And only 1 in 14 students have experienced cyberbullying. Also 85 % of district leaders insist that adult monitoring would be required for students to use these sites, and 71 % would still prohibit chat and IM. This tells us if social networking is used properly and safely it can have value.

he loves hanging out with my brother

Justin and Angel, 1 of his 2 nephews that are less than a year younger than. This is my 19 year old cousins son and overall he tries to and is a great dad. His other nephew's mom is 17 and is in a rehab center for doing pot, meth etc. But was kicked out of the home a couple days ago. Please just be in prayer for these two people because they have a lot of problems especially the 17 year old girl.

Long Time, No Write

I know it has been an extremely long time since I've posted and I apologize. Last night Ian made me realize that I haven't done so for awhile so here it is. I've been busy but not busy at the same time. Since I last posted I basically have been consumed in school and the holiday season. Last Wednesday was the Senior Citizen Dinner for FCCLA and that was pretty fun. Plus I've been doing pep band for basketball and that's pretty fun to watch basketball and get to play with the band too. School and everything as also been great. Also on Monday was our concert for band and we did pretty well.

Last night was game night at youth group and that was fun. I learned two new games, one was a guessing game and the other was called Maow(spelling ??) that was a really fun game where as you go along you get to make up rules. One of my favorite rules was when you laid down a two you had to hit the person next to you in the head and the last person had to duck or else they had to draw two cards. There was also singing and food before the games too. It was just an all around fun time seeing everybody before Christmas especially the college kids.
But before hand my dad kept giving me a a bunch of crap for going to this game night with my youth group instead of caroling with my church. I told him one night that I was doing this and he asked me which one God would want to me to do. I said I thought God would not care which one. He thought otherwise that he would want me to bring joy to other people. I told him if it was just my responsability to bring joy to these people I would and that God doesn't care whether or not there are 3 or 500 people caroling to the others. So last night I told him I wasn't going to be eating tacos before I went over to the Scherling's house because I didn't want to over eat. He then said you're gonna be anti-eating and anti-social too, and not in a joking way either. He went outside for a little while and then I told my mom that I didn't get why dad didn't want me to go so much. He then came back in and said "no reason you give will make any sense" or something along those lines. I don't know why he was making such a big deal out of this?

Monday morning were leaving for my aunt's house for Christmas with my mom's side. Then on Thursday were leaving to my Grandma's on my dad's side to have Christmas there. Then the next weekend were going to my Great Grandma's to have have another Christmas on my mom's side. We have so many Christmas's I sometimes wish we could just alternate having Christmas with one every year.

Well I know its been some time since I've updated. The thing with the friend is straightened out. Geometry going ok, I got a 92% on my test last Tuesday. Life is going pretty good. Do you ever have the feeling once in while that you're just tierd of your friends and just want some down time from them. I've been feeling that way lately, every class I don't have them with is a blessing, because I think I need a break. I'm not about to forget them and not hang out with them. I still eat lunch with them and hang with them in the library. I think I've just needed some new faces and some alone time.
On another subject Oasis on the 4th was a blast. The worship was great, the classes were fabulous, but the illusionist Saturday night was phenominal. All of you who read this probably heard about it. I know what your thinking a illusionist at a Christian convention. But he tied God into it and it was the greatest part. A girl from the youth group actually got a go up on stage and take part at the very beginning. Of course on the way back my brother had to let out all my little secrets. Yes I do have numchucks, I took taekwondo for about a year and a half. I know it's suprising that quiet Kylie took martial arts. You also be surprised that when i'm in a vehicle with my family i can't shut up. Whoa, I know you can barely get me to talk at youth group and school. I'm trying to talk more, to express myself. I think that it's very important that i do. People need to know what my opinions and ideas are at school. I'm getting tierd of just letting someone elses idea be what we do and not mine. I loved the traveling on the eay there and back it's one of my favorite parts.
This past weekend one of my dads cousins got married in Kansas City. This weekend was also the musical so you can see why I was pretty upset. I love getting to watch the musical becasue they always do a fabulous job. I barely know any of the people well at all. Do you know my dad has a cousin that was born the exact same day and year as me. That is really weird to me. So my dad's grandparents 1st got a great grandchild then a grandchild. But my great grandparents had 10 children and my grandpa is one of the oldest.
Anyway this is getting way to long and my aunt who is here visiting on her weekend off jsut told me i needed to feed the dog. Adios. Love ya'll.

Fabulously,
Kylie

How Long Til Friday?

I have a feeling this week is going to be extra long cause I have so much stuff to do. Geometry I got today is confusing. I have a test in Chem. on Wednesday on stuff I kinda get. I have a project that's due on Monday in World His. that he just gave us on Friday. He didn't give us any time to work on it in class. I'm going to Oasis this weekend so I'm not going to have very much time to work on it. To top that all off I have a problem that I don't want to go into detail on here on. Some friend thinks this other friend sent this e-mail that she thinks says she has no friends to an anonymous lady and is mad at her friend. But actualy it was me, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the agony this so confusing. So I think that's part of the reason I don't get geometry because I was worried about these friends fighting when it was actually me. But I didn't say she had no friends I just said that she needed encouraging because she was feeling like she had no friends. I just went into to detail when I said I wouldn't, oh well. Well you're probably really confused about this all, and so am I. I don't know what to do and this week is going to be really busy without all my extra activities. So I'm going to go, probably to bed real soon. I don't want to think about this giant load of crap I have to do this week. Adios

Kylie

What's Happening?

Well nothing much has been happenin in my life lately. Just homework, band, clubs, and youth group. Homework hasn't been bad lately and I haven't any tests lately. Band is kinda of hectic, we been practicing like crazy for contest tomorrow and of course battle of the bands in Colby at the game Thursday. On Wednesday I went to Fall Accademy for FCCLA, that was kinda fun. Big Brtoher Big Sister this coming Wednesday, should be fun. Youth group has been fun we started in Genisis last week. They got videos to go with each little session, so that makes it interesting. Oasis is on the 4th and I'm pretty excited, my brother wants this friend to go. I'm not sure if he'll be able to go because Micki doesn't have any more room in her vehicle. But if Jason from Oakley has room, there both going to ride with them. So overall life in general is going pretty good.
Remember God is awesome, incredible, and great. Tell people he loves them, all it takes is three words, God loves you. At the beginning of John 3:16 it says "For God so loved the world" he just doesn't love belivers, the one's that go to church, people from the U.S., he loves the whole world. He loves the hobo on the corner, those kids who don't have such a great life. So tell someone this week that God loves them. I challenge all of you who read this to do so. And if you're reading this and don't know it "God loves you" more than anything.
